The NH Lakes Region
Lakes Region of NH
New Hampshire's famous Lakes Region is an area in central New Hampshire that encompasses several cities and towns and, as the name implies, is home to numerous lakes, the three largest of which are
Lake Winnipesaukee (the sixth largest natural lake in the United States),
Squam Lake (the picturesque filming location for the 1981 movie On Golden Pond) and Winnisquam Lake (New Hampshire's fourth largest Lake). Other popular lakes in the area are Ossipee Lake, New Found Lake and Sunapee Lake. As any vacationer to the area can attest, the Lakes Region is a four-season vacation destination with something for every type of outdoor enthusiast.
