WINTER CARNIVAL WEEK 2023

February is the  Annual Winter Carnival in the Lake Winnipesaukee region of NH!

Winter in NH is always unpredictable and though we try and list Only current events we do update these pages well in advance of the event. We appreciate any updates from Locals as they happen and we do our utmost to keep dates and times accurate.

Alton Bay Seaplane Base and Ice Runway ! The only plowed ice runway in the continental US (that we know of!). Generally open from January until March, when the ice reaches a thickness of at least 12 inches. Pilots are advised to call 603-271-7398 for the most recent airport conditions. In warmer months, seaplanes are welcome on the bay.

Winter Carnival events in the lakes region on Lake Winnipesaukee are in held in February! The events held on the ice include Wolfeboro harbor, Alton Bay, Abenaki Ski Area, Pop Whalen Ice Arena,Meredith, Laconia and anything in between. Wolfeboro Bay Winter Carnival: Winter Wonderland

WHEN: February 19

Events are held throughout Wolfeboro including Abenaki Ski Area  Pop Whalen Ice Arena  Wolfeboro Inn and include a big air competition, free ice skating, snowshoeing workshop, sleigh rides, animal tracking, primitive fire building, inflatable obstacle course competition, pancake breakfast as well as ski and snowboard races.

Three ice bars, two bands each night. Fire dancing performances.  Complimentary town car transportation from five public parking lots in Wolfeboro. Town car transportation to and from in-town lodging and other locations is available.
All ages are welcome, we will be checking IDs at the entrance to issue bracelets for those age 21 and over.

Come and experience our Wolfeboro village set up on the ice in the harbor on Wolfeboro Bay!  Post office and shops with treats and campfire cooking! The village of Wolfeboro NH is the place to be when you want a great family outing in winter. Alton Bay Winter Carnival: Winter Dreaming

The weekend and week are filled with excitement from ice fishing, snowmobile races, ice boats, and skating! While you’re here enjoying the great frozen lake, enjoy hearty homemade meals at the diner on the bay! If you’re a winter hiker and snowshoeing then Mount Major in Alton Bay is a popular winter destination.  Micro Spikes “A Must” and Experience  The view from the summit of the frozen tundra from Meredith to Alton is an incredible sight to see.

Visit Meredith Bay NH while you’re here in the lakes region for Winter Carnival week! Our shops, cafes, and restaurants are brimming with an invite! Stroll around town and take in the frozen Falls at our mill with perfect photography opportunities! Hop on the horse-drawn sled for a relaxing trip through town.  Step a few to the shoreline of Meredith Bay for gorgeous Panoramic frozen views while sipping your hot cocoa from the village café! Meredith Mills on Lake Winnipesaukee is a wonderful place to visit in Winter with family and friends!
